Professor Alastair Denniston is AI Strategic Advisor to HDRUK, alongside Professor Dave Robertson. Alastair is also Consultant Ophthalmologist at and Professor of Regulatory Science and Innovation at . He leads the Birmingham AI & Digital Health Group, a research group supporting innovators, regulators and policy-makers in ensuring AI technologies are safe, effective and equitable, and that they are of real benefit in the real world. At the national level, he leads the UK’s Centre of Excellence for Regulatory Science and Innovation in AI & Digital Health () and is a Council Member of the Regulatory Horizons Council to the UK Government.
